What type of boat is best for sailing in Cannigione?

Cannigione and this part of Sardinia are obviously most known for their magnificent beaches, so you want to choose your boat wisely in order to be able to visit them all.

Rent a catamaran in Cannigione

Pros of renting a catamaran in Cannigione

Charter a catamaran in Cannigione to explore all these magical beaches you’ve heard so much about. Catamarans have a shallow draft which makes them perfect for sailing in shallow waters and close to the coast. You can discover all the beaches and coves you would like to see.

Rent a catamaran in Cannigione if you like to have choices. A catamaran might just seem big and bulky, but there is so much more to it. You can either sail with the sail or drive with the engine. This is great, because you don’t have to rely on the weather and can sail with the wind when it’s strong enough, but revert to the engine should the wind suddenly stop blowing. You won’t get stuck in the middle of the sea - and if you do, it will be for another reason.

A catamaran rental in Cannigione is perfect for anyone who prefers to have more space on a sailing vacation. Catamarans often offer more space than other types of boats, standing on two hulls simply allows for more room in the bedrooms and on deck. Standing on two hulls also gives catamarans more stability. This is particularly great for anyone suffering from seasickness quite easily.

Cons of renting a catamaran in Cannigione

Catamarans are often lighter than other types of boats which can slow them down - even in stronger winds. If you only have a limited amount of time on your hands and want to see as many different places as possible, a catamaran might not be the best choice for you.

Another downside of catamarans can be their size. Of course it is fantastic to stretch your legs on deck and feel like sleeping in a hotel room rather than a cabin on a boat. However, this might mean that you won’t be able to find a spot for mooring at the marinas. It can get quite crowded in the summer and this means limited availability. The size doesn’t make it any easier either. If you’re lucky enough to secure a spot for mooring, you will probably have to pay double the regular price.

Rent a sailboat in Cannigione

Pros of renting a sailboat in Cannigione

One of the advantages of renting a sailboat in Cannigione is the fact that they solely run on wind. This makes them extremely affordable. Plus, you don’t need to keep track of fuel costs as you won’t be surprised by a horrendous additional bill.

A sailboat charter in Cannigione is also great if you care about the environment. As sailboats solely sail with the wind, you are using a natural resource without harming the environment. Also, no motor is going to disturb the natural wildlife while exploring the Mediterranean.

A sailboat rental in Cannigione is perfect for anyone who wants to embark on a longer sailing vacation. As sailboats don’t need to stop by the marinas to refuel regularly, they can go longer distances without any problems.

Cons of renting a sailboat in Cannigione

While it’s definitely an advantage to go longer distances without refueling, you might get stuck in the middle of the sea should the wind suddenly stop blowing. A sailboat charter in Cannigione is not the right choice for you if you are impatient and have a lot of places to tick off your to-do-list.

As sailboats have a keel and Cannigione and the Gulf of Arzachena are mostly known for their stunning beaches, you might miss out on seeing them. Sure, you can always see them from a distance, but isn’t that the whole fun of it to see them up close, splash in the crystal clear waters and feel the warm white sand on your feet.

Rent a motorboat in Cannigione

Pros of renting a motorboat in Cannigione

Charter a motorboat in Cannigione if you like to drive into your sailing adventure in Sardinia at full speed. Cons of renting a motorboat in Cannigione

However, renting a motorboat in Cannigione is not just roses and sunshine. Charter a luxury yacht in Cannigione

Treat yourself to a real luxury on your sailing vacation if you can afford it. Charter a private luxury yacht in Cannigione and enjoy all the amenities that come with it. The best one is probably that most luxury yachts come with a crew for the duration of your trip, taking care of your every need. A stove, fridge and freezer ensure that you can always store and prepare enough food without having to go back to the marinas whenever you crave something from the fridge. A great add-on is a SUP or snorkelling equipment for some extra fun.

What kind of boat licence do you need when renting a boat in Cannigione?

Want to rent a boat in Italy? Then you need to be in possession of a valid boat licence. However, if you just want to rent a speedboat in Cannigione, you don’t need a boat licence, you can just rent it. Of course the charter is going to give you a quick instruction on how to operate it, but once that is done you’re free to go. If you hire a boat with less than 40 hp, you don’t need a boat licence. Even a sailboat can be sailed without a boat licence if you don’t sail more than 10km away from the coast.

You don’t have a boat licence and don’t want to get one? Don’t worry, you can always hire a skipper or captain in addition to your bareboat charter. That way you don’t have to worry about anything.
